Adiantum Fragrans, commonly known as Fragrant Maidenhair Fern, is a delicate and graceful fern species prized for its lacy foliage and pleasant fragrance. Native to tropical regions, Adiantum Fragrans is often grown as a houseplant due to its ornamental appeal and relatively low maintenance requirements

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate partial shade. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as this can scorch the delicate fronds. Place it near a north or east-facing window where it can receive filtered sunlight.

Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant thoroughly whenever the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Use room temperature water to avoid shocking the plant. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's essential to maintain a balance and avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

Humidity

Adiantum Fragrans thrives in high humidity environments, typical of its native tropical habitat. To increase humidity, mist the foliage regularly or place the plant on a pebble tray filled with water. Alternatively, consider using a room humidifier to maintain adequate moisture levels.

Temperature

Prefers temperatures between 15°C to 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations, as this can stress the delicate foliage.

Fertilisation

Feed Adiantum Fragrans with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half-strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilisation in the fall and winter months when the plant's growth slows down.

Pruning

Trim away any yellowing or damaged fronds to promote new growth and maintain the plant's appearance. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to make clean cuts.

Pests and Diseases

Adiantum Fragrans is generally resistant to pests and diseases when grown indoors. However, it may occasionally attract pests like aphids or scale insects. Inspect the plant regularly and treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
