Callisia 'Pink Lady', also known as Callisia repens 'Pink Lady' or Pink Turtle Vine, is a charming trailing plant known for its small, ovate leaves adorned with shades of pink, green, and cream. The foliage's delicate, variegated colours give the plant a striking appearance, making it a popular choice for hanging baskets, terrariums, or as a ground cover in gardens. The plant's compact, trailing habit and easy care requirements make it a delightful addition to any indoor plant collection.

With its beautiful variegated foliage and trailing habit, Callisia 'Pink Lady' can add a touch of colour and elegance to any space. Its low maintenance and easy propagation make it an ideal plant for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant colours.

Can tolerate partial shade, but too little light may cause the variegation to fade.

Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and bleach the colours.

Water

Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged.

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.

Be careful not to overwater, as the plant is susceptible to root rot.

Humidity

Thrives in moderate to high humidity levels.

Regular misting can help maintain humidity, especially in dry indoor environments.

Avoid placing the plant near air conditioners or heaters, which can dry out the air.

Temperature

Ideal temperature range: 18-24°C.

Can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from frost.

Prefers a warm, stable environment for optimal growth.

Soil

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat moss, perlite, and a bit of sand.

Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water accumulation.

A cactus or succulent mix can also work well, as long as it is well-draining.

Fertilisation

Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted to half strength.

Fertilise every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

Reduce fertilisation during fall and winter when the plant's growth slows.

Repotting

Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound.

Choose a pot that is slightly larger and has good drainage.

Refresh the soil mix to provide new nutrients.

Pruning

Prune to maintain a compact shape and encourage bushier growth.

Pinch back the tips of the stems to promote branching.

Remove any yellowing or dead leaves to keep the plant looking neat and healthy.

Propagation

Easily propagated through stem cuttings.

Take cuttings with a few leaves, remove the lower leaves, and place in water or directly in moist soil.

Keep the cuttings in a warm, bright location until roots develop, usually within a few weeks.
