Ceropegia woodii 'String of Hearts Super Marlies', a variegated cultivar of the classic String of Hearts plant, is a charming trailing succulent renowned for its delicate, heart-shaped leaves with striking variegation. This cultivar features leaves adorned with shades of green, cream, and pink, adding an extra layer of visual interest to its already captivating appearance. Its trailing vines make it an excellent choice for hanging baskets or to cascade down shelves, bringing a touch of whimsy and elegance to any space.

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light.

Can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially morning sun, but avoid intense afternoon sun which can scorch the leaves.

Insufficient light may result in less vibrant variegation.

Watering

Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.

Water thoroughly when watering, and allow excess water to drain away.

Reduce watering in winter when growth slows.

Soil

Use a well-draining potting mix.

A mix of potting soil, perlite, and sand or orchid bark works well.

Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

Temperature

Thrives in temperatures between 18-27°C.

Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

Humidity

Prefers moderate humidity levels.

Mist the leaves occasionally, especially in dry indoor environments.

Grouping plants together can also help increase humidity levels.

Fertilising

Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

Reduce fertilising in fall and winter.

Repotting

Repot every 1-2 years in spring to refresh the soil and provide room for growth.

Choose a slightly larger pot with good drainage.

Pests

Watch out for common pests such as spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs.

Regularly inspect the plant and treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Pruning

Trim away any yellowing or brown leaves to maintain the plant's appearance.

Prune back overgrown vines to encourage bushier growth and maintain the desired shape.
