Haworthia 'Big Band' is a striking succulent plant known for its eye-catching, rosette-shaped clusters of fleshy leaves. This particular cultivar stands out for its distinct bands of white or translucent stripes that run horizontally across the leaves, resembling a "big band". Haworthias are well-adapted to arid environments and are often grown indoors as low-maintenance ornamental plants.

Where do I come from?

I am native to Southern Africa

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. Place it near a window with filtered light or in a well-lit room.

Watering

Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Over-watering can lead to root rot, so err on the side of underwatering. During the growing season (spring and summer), water every 2-3 weeks, and reduce watering in the winter months.

Soil

Plant in well-draining soil, such as a cactus or succulent mix. Good drainage is essential to prevent waterlogged roots.

Temperature

Thrives in average room temperatures between 18°C - 27°C. Protect from temperatures below 10°C.

Humidity

Tolerates low to moderate humidity levels. Average indoor humidity is generally sufficient.

Fertilizing

Feed with a diluted, balanced fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the growing season. Avoid fertilizing in winter.

Potting

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot with drainage holes and only slightly larger than the current one.

Pests and Diseases

Haworthias are relatively pest-resistant but watch for common succulent pests like mealybugs or spider mites. Treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap.

Am I Pet Friendly?

Sadly I am not pet friendly.

What size am I?

I come in a 8cm pot.
