Oxalis Iron Cross is a charming and distinctive plant known for its unique foliage. Its leaves are shaped like a four-leaf clover and have a striking pattern of dark burgundy markings in the centre, resembling a cross. This attractive feature makes it a popular choice for indoor gardens and decorative arrangements.

Light

Place the plant in a location with bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the delicate leaves.

Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid letting the plant sit in water, as this can lead to root rot.

Soil

Use well-draining potting soil to prevent water from pooling around the roots.

Temperature and Humidity

Oxalis Iron Cross prefers average room temperatures between 18°C to 24°C. It also appreciates moderate humidity, so consider misting the plant occasionally, especially in dry indoor environments.

Fertilisation

Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half-strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilisation during the plant's dormant period in fall and winter.

Dormancy

Oxalis Iron Cross may go dormant in the fall and winter months, during which it may drop its leaves. Reduce watering during this time and allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Resume regular watering and fertilization when new growth appears in spring.
