Callisia Rosato, commonly known as the Pink Lady, is a delightful and attractive houseplant known for its small, succulent-like leaves that display a beautiful blend of pink, green, and cream colours. This compact, trailing plant is perfect for hanging baskets, terrariums, or as a tabletop accent, adding a splash of colour and a touch of elegance to any indoor space.

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant colours. Can tolerate some direct morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon sunlight. Low light conditions can cause the plant to lose its pink coloration.

Water

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Reduce watering in the winter when the plant's growth slows down.

Humidity

Thrives in moderate humidity levels (40-60%). Can adapt to average indoor humidity but benefits from occasional misting.

Temperature

Ideal temperature range: 16-27°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F 10°C.

Fertilisation:

Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.

Repotting

Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is one size larger and has drainage holes.

Pruning

Prune to maintain the desired shape and to encourage bushier growth. Remove any leggy or damaged stems to promote healthy growth.

Pests

Watch for common pests like spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. Treat with insecticidal soap or neem oil if needed.

Propagation

Easily propagated through stem cuttings. Take a cutting with a few leaves and nodes, then root it in water or moist soil.

Ensure good humidity and light conditions for successful propagation.
